Matthew M. Richardson, M.D.
Matthew M. Richardson, M.D. is an Interventional Spine Physiatrist with Peachtree Spine Physicians in Atlanta, Georgia. He performs fluoroscopically-guided procedures and uses other conservative treatments to improve the function and quality of life for his patients. Dr. Richardson completed his anesthesia-based fellowship in Interventional Spine and Pain in Berkeley, California. He then worked in private practice in Berkeley, California before moving to Atlanta in July, 2005. Dr. Richardson completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Emory University School of Medicine.
He obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of Tennessee in Memphis and graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a College Scholars degree. Dr. Richardson is board certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine. He is also a board certified independent medical examiner with the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.
Dr. Richardson is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, International Spinal Intervention Society, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain, PASSOR, North American Spine Society, American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and American Medical Association.
Outside of medicine, Matt enjoys playing music and cooking French cuisine. His musical highlights include performing at local venues as a singer-songwriter and opening for Dave Matthews Band as a drummer. Matt is married and has two wonderful children.
