What you can expect during your MRI appointment

We offer 4 convenient locations in Decatur, Hapeville, McDonough and the  Atlanta/Sandy Springs area.

Philips Achieva 1.5T is designed for shorter scan times and can better visualize small anatomy. Available 7 days a week at our Decatur location.

Before your scan, you’ll be asked to fill out a screening form to ensure you do not have any metal in your body that could be harmful to you during your scan. You may be asked to change into a gown and/or scrub pants for the scan, but you will be provided a locker to lock up your belongings.

Additionally, we have a wide variety of music to choose from, face masks, and other techniques if you feel nervous about your scan. Our caring staff members will do everything they can to help you feel comfortable. We will listen to your concerns, answer any questions you might have, and check on you throughout your MRI.

How long does the MRI take?

Typically, each MRI will take 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete; however, it may vary with what type of MRI the doctor has ordered for you.

What to expect after the MRI is completed

We will provide you a copy of your images that you will need to take to your follow-up visit with the doctor.  We will also validate your parking at the end of the MRI.

A certified radiologist will review your images and a report will be sent to your doctor for review.
